The Norwegian Coffee Roasting Championship (NM i Kaffebrenning) is Norway’s national roasting competition, organized by SCA Norway. The annual championship selects Norway’s representative for the World Coffee Roasting Championship.
How the Competition Works
The championship runs in two rounds: a qualifying round, then a final in which finalists each roast a mandatory single origin coffee and a blend, both supplied for the competition, for blind evaluation by a sensory judging panel. Finals are held annually in Oslo, at rRebel’s facilities. This is a separate competition from the Nordic Coffee Fest’s regional Nordics Best Roaster award, which is open to roasters across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and the North Atlantic territories.
