Our focus is on Cup of Excellence auctions, roasting championships, and festival competitions where the outcome produces a specific, purchasable product. We do not cover barista technique competitions, latte art, or results where no purchasable coffee exists. Competitions are selected on the basis of credibility, international reach, and whether they surface coffees readers can actually obtain.
Editorial Independence
EspressoDrop.com is independently owned and operated with no revenue agreements with any roaster, competition organizer, or coffee brand. Coverage decisions are made solely on the basis of competition results. We do not accept payment for coverage, sponsored posts, or placement in any form. Links to roasters’ online shops are editorial recommendations based on competition results, not paid placements. If advertising is added in future, it will be clearly labeled and separated from editorial content.
Ethics Statement
We report competition results as announced by official organizing bodies without alteration or omission. We do not publish results until they are confirmed by the organizing body. When a result is ambiguous, contested, or involves a co-championship, we say so. We do not publish claims about a coffee’s flavor, origin, or provenance that cannot be verified from the roaster’s own website or the official competition record.
Fact-Checking
Before publication, each post is verified against the official result from the competition organizer: the Alliance for Coffee Excellence for Cup of Excellence events, World Coffee Events for championship competitions, and the relevant festival organizer for regional events. Roaster details including location, shipping availability, and product listings are confirmed against the roaster’s own website at the time of writing.
We also run a structured AI-assisted fact-check on every post before publishing. This process cross-references each factual claim against available sources and flags anything unverifiable. No post is published with unresolved flags; disputed or unconfirmed details are either removed or noted as unconfirmed in the post itself.
Corrections
