The ASEAN Coffee Roasting Championship (ACRC) is a regional roasting competition for Southeast Asia, organized by the ASEAN Coffee Federation. Launched in 2026, the championship brings together top roasters from across the ten ASEAN member nations to compete at THAIFEX-HOREC Asia in Bangkok, Thailand.
Southeast Asia is one of the world’s most important coffee-producing regions, home to major growing countries including Indonesia, Vietnam, and Myanmar. It is also a rapidly expanding consumer market with a sophisticated, fast-growing specialty coffee culture. The ACRC is the first roasting championship to represent the region as a whole.
How the Competition Works
The ACRC follows the World Coffee Events roasting championship format. Competitors from ASEAN member nations roast standardized green coffee lots provided to all entrants. Judges evaluate each roast on sensory attributes including aroma, flavor, acidity, body, and balance. The inaugural championship was held in Bangkok in March 2026.
Past Winners
ACRC competitors roast standardized green lots sourced from across ASEAN member nations. Roasters do not compete with their own commercial coffee. Links below go to each winner’s roastery.
