Terres de Café Wins Best Espresso of France 2026

by

The Coffee

Terres de Café, the Paris specialty roaster founded by Christophe Servell, won the 2026 Concours du Meilleur Espresso de France with one of their commercial espresso coffees. The competition allows roasters to enter their own existing range — a blend or single-origin already available to buy — so the coffee that won is the same one you can order from Terres de Café’s shop today. Their espresso range includes two blends, the Classic Espresso and the Organic Espresso Bio, available in 250g and 1kg formats online and at their boutiques in Paris, Lille, and Versailles.

The Win

The 2026 final took place on September 14, 2026 at the Paris Coffee Show. Representing Terres de Café, Michael Loos took first place ahead of Rudy Aubert of Valini in second and Adrien Georges of Comptoirs Jeanne d’Arc in third. The five regional finalists had been selected at a qualifying round held in June, where around 29 roasters competed for spots at the national final.

The competition is organized by Collectif café, formerly the Comité Français du Café, France’s main coffee trade federation. The winner is decided by a combined score of 50% from a professional jury and 50% from a public vote by Paris Coffee Show attendees — an unusual format that means the winning espresso must work for specialists and the general public alike.

This is the latest honor for a roaster with a long competition record. Terres de Café won the Meilleur Assemblage Espresso de France title in both 2015 and 2019, and the house has been named Best Roaster of France. The 2026 win adds the Meilleur Espresso de France title to their record.
